The Girls Softball League is back for Summer 2024! Practices for the Girls Softball League will begin the week of May 28. Practices will be held from 9:00-11:00am on Tuesdays & Fridays for 8U and 10U and on Mondays & Wednesdays for 12U, 14U, 16U & 18U.
The 8U age group will use Coach Pitch, the 10U age group will use Modified Live Pitch, and 12U-18U age groups will use Live Pitch. Games will be played in Buena Vista, Salida, Gunnison, Alamosa, and other communities, as scheduled. Ages are calculated as of December 31, 2023. Charcoal Softball Pants can be purchased through BV Rec during registration for $15. NO PRACICE WILL TAKE PLACE ON MONDAY, MAY 27 FOR MEMORIAL DAY. NO PRACTICE OR GAMES WILL TAKE PLACE ON THURSDAY, JULY 4 OR FRIDAY, JULY 5.
Registration for the Girls Softball League will include a Preseason Skills Clinic and Assessment led by the Buena Vista Recreation Department before the start of the season.
*Please be aware that girls softball age groups may be combined with other age groups, depending on the number of players in each age group. BV Rec will make a decision on team rosters after the registration deadline.

Volunteer Parent Coaches for each team are needed! A coaches meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 6:00pm at the Community Center. Please contact Ryan at 719-581-1052 or rvaughn@buenavistaco.gov, if interested. Volunteer parent coaches are eligible to receive a 50% participant registration fee refund at the end of the season. Please contact Ryan towards the end of the season if you wish to receive this refund.
