This will be a donation only event. All proceeds will go toward Gary’s time and wear and tear on his game collection. Please support Gary and his passion to provide gaming opportunities for his community!

BV Rec is excited to be offering Game Night! This program was formerly held at the Buena Vista Public Library and will now be teaming up with Buena Vista Recreation to bring you a day of board games for the whole family.

Game night will be available to all age ranges. There will be a large variety of games to play, spanning from games that can accommodate two people or a larger group. Game night will be hosted in collaboration with Gary Johnson who has an extensive library of games that he will have available, as well as his knowledge on the rules and game play information.

May’s event details: This month’s theme is Ready, Set, GO!  Great racing games in honor of this months Kentucky Derby, NASCAR and the Indy 500!

Please feel free to bring your own snack and beverage to the event (Non-alcoholic beverages only, no alcohol allowed on site.)

SUMMER 2025 THEME: “THE SUMMER OF GRAND ADVENTURES”
– JUNE 14 – “ADVENTURES IN IMAGINATION”
               – Games of Fantasy, Science Fiction & Pulp Adventure – to include a Kid’s Giant Fantasy Adventure, Role Playing Games like D&D and introduction to playing “Magic the Gathering”.
– JULY 12 – “ADVENTURES IN THE REAL WORLD”
               – Games about Historical Events, Space Exploration, The Wild West, Pirates, Wildlife and Exploring/Traveling the World.
– AUGUST 16 – “ADVENTURES IN ANALOG”
               – Unplug from the Digital world and enjoy great tabletop games based on TV Shows, Movies, Comics and Video Games.
