DESCRIPTION:Mountain Bike Skills Camp – Ages: 7-14 \n1 Beginner Level Group\, 1 Intermediate Level Group\, and 1 Advanced Level Group \n Beginner $100  –  4 weeks; 10 total hours \nAdvanced and Intermediate $160  –  4 weeks; 16 total hours \nMax of 10 Kids per Level Group \nRegistration Opens Monday\, May 11th at 12:00pm (Noon)! \nProgram Dates: June 30 – July 23 \n\nBeginner Level (Ages 7-10):\n\nTuesdays\, June 30\, July 7\, and July 14 – 8:30am-10:30am\nTuesday\, July 21 – 8:30am-12:30pm\n\n\n\n\nIntermediate Level (Ages 9-12):\n\nThursdays\, July 2\, July 9\, July 16\, and July 23 – 8:30am-12:30pm\n\n\n\n\nAdvanced Level (Ages 11-14):\n\nWednesdays\, July 1\, July 8\, July 15\, and July 22 – 8:30am-12:30pm\n\n\n\nRegistration Deadline: Tuesday\, June 23 \nGet your bikes and helmets ready for BV Rec’s Youth Mountain Bike Skills Camp! \nThe Beginner Level is designed for kids who are excited to learn the basics of mountain biking while getting to practice and be pushed alongside their peers. This is NOT a program to teach kids how to ride a bike. Participants must already know how to ride a bike. The Intermediate Level is designed for kids who are ready to take their mountain biking to the next level. From learning new skills around town to putting those skills to the test on some of the region’s best mountain bike trails\, this course will push you to be your best. \nHave you been riding for years and are ready to take your skills to the next level? Then the Advanced Level camp is meant for you! The Advanced Level is designed for kids who have already completed an Intermediate Level with BV Rec in the past. Riders will be participating in inherently dangerous activities\, and for this level\, riders will have to be at least 10 years old. This level is meant for advanced and older riders due to the terrain and trails that will be enjoyed during this class. BV Rec reserves the right to move participants to different levels.  \nThe Beginner Level will consist of three\, 2-hour sessions and one\, 4-hour session and participants will stay in BV and utilize the BV River Park and Midland trails. The Intermediate Level and Advance Level will consist of four\, 4-hour sessions. The Intermediate and Advanced Level groups will utilize some BV trails\, and will also travel to Leadville\, Twin Lakes\, and Salida to introduce the participants to beginner/beginner-intermediate mountain bike trails that BV does not offer. In Leadville\, we will use the CMC Timberline trails\, in Twin Lakes\, we will use the Interlaken trail\, and in Salida\, we will use the Rainbow Spartan trails. This equates to a total of 10 hours for each beginner participant and 16 hours for each intermediate and advanced level participant.  \nDrop off and pick-up will take place at the Buena Vista Community Center (715 E Main St). The sessions will be led by experienced mountain bikers\, with additional help provided from various mountain bike experts and advocates from the local Buena Vista community. \nMinimum of 20” bikes with hand brakes and gears. Participants must have a bike-mounted water bottle or hydration pack. Helmets required; gloves recommended. Snacks are highly recommended and plenty of water is required. (Register Before April 27th) – $60\n\n          Registration After April 27th – $70\n\nGames on Tuesdays & Thursdays\, 4:00-8:00pm\nJune 1 – July 16\nYouth Baseball Field – BV River Park\n \nGrab your bat and your glove and get ready for the Youth Baseball League!\n8U Coach Pitch is for ages 7-8\, as of 4/30/26. Players will be placed on parent-volunteer coached teams. Practices for the Youth Baseball League will begin the week of June 1. Coach Pitch will have one 1-hour practice per week as scheduled by the volunteer team coach\, and one practice per week led by the BV Rec Baseball Practice Facilitator on Wednesdays from 9:00-10:30am. Coach Pitch games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-8:00pm from June 9-July 16 in Buena Vista\, Salida and Lake County\, as scheduled. Game schedule will be released around the start of the season. NO PRACTICE OR GAMES WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY\, JULY 3.\n \nRegistration for the Youth Baseball League includes a team t-shirt. Participants may purchase a BV Baseball hat for an additional $20. Hats are not required for games or practices. All players should have their own glove. Cleats or running shoes are recommended. Metal cleats are not allowed. White Baseball Pants can be purchased through BV Rec during registration for $20\, but are not required.\n \n\nRegistration for 8U Coach Pitch\, 10U Modified Live Pitch\, and 12U Live Pitch will include a preseason Skills Clinic and Assessment led by the Buena Vista High School Baseball Team. The Skills Clinic and Assessment will be held Wednesday\, May 13 from 5:45-7:00pm at the Buena Vista High School Baseball Field.\n\n \n\nREGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday\, May 8\, 2026\n*Early Registration Discount – Register by Monday\, April 27th!*\n\n\n \nVolunteer Parent Coaches for each team are needed! A coaches meeting will be held on Wednesday\, May 20th at 6:00pm at the BV Community Center.
