SUMMARY:Youth Basketball League - Grades 5-6 - 2026
DESCRIPTION:5-6 Grade Youth Basketball – Fall 2026 \nBV Rec & BVHS Boys Basketball are partnering once again to bring you the Youth Basketball League! The League is open for players in K-6th Grades. Girls & Boys will be split into volunteer-coached teams in the 1-2\, 3-4\, and 5-6 grade divisions. The Kindergarten age group will be coed and run camp-style (practices and scrimmages during the week with no games on the weekends). Practices will be led by trained BV Rec Practice Facilitators for the Kindergarten and 1-2 grade age groups. While the 3-4 and 5-6 grade age groups’ practices will be led by the BVHS Boys Basketball coaches and players.  In addition to the listed practice times\, 5-6 Grade teams will have a ‘Individual Team Practice’ Scheduled for Monday or Tuesday Nights for 45 Minutes at Avery-Parsons Elementary that is scheduled by the Parent-Coach for that team.\n \nGame schedule and locations will be released after the season begins. All age groups will begin practice the week of Monday\, October 19. All age groups will play their first games on Saturday\, October 31 and final games on Saturday\, December 12. Games will typically be played 4v4 on a full 2-hoop side court. Players and coaches will receive a team t-shirt\, which is included in the registration fee. DESCRIPTION:5-6 Grade Youth Basketball – Fall 2026 \nBV Rec & BVHS Boys Basketball are partnering once again to bring you the Youth Basketball League! The League is open for players in K-6th Grades. Girls & Boys will be split into volunteer-coached teams in the 1-2\, 3-4\, and 5-6 grade divisions. The Kindergarten age group will be coed and run camp-style (practices and scrimmages during the week with no games on the weekends). Practices will be led by trained BV Rec Practice Facilitators for the Kindergarten and 1-2 grade age groups. While the 3-4 and 5-6 grade age groups’ practices will be led by the BVHS Boys Basketball coaches and players.  In addition to the listed practice times\, 5-6 Grade teams will have a ‘Individual Team Practice’ Scheduled for Monday or Tuesday Nights for 45 Minutes at Avery-Parsons Elementary that is scheduled by the Parent-Coach for that team.\n \nGame schedule and locations will be released after the season begins. All age groups will begin practice the week of Monday\, October 19. All age groups will play their first games on Saturday\, October 31 and final games on Saturday\, December 12. Games will typically be played 4v4 on a full 2-hoop side court. Players and coaches will receive a team t-shirt\, which is included in the registration fee. SUMMARY:Youth Basketball League - Grades 3-4 - 2026
DESCRIPTION:3-4 Grade Youth Basketball – Fall 2026 \nBV Rec & BVHS Boys Basketball are partnering once again to bring you the Youth Basketball League! The League is open for players in K-6th Grades. Girls & Boys will be split into volunteer-coached teams in the 1-2\, 3-4\, and 5-6 grade divisions. The Kindergarten age group will be coed and run camp-style (practices and scrimmages during the week with no games on the weekends). Practices will be led by trained BV Rec Practice Facilitators for the Kindergarten and 1-2 grade age groups. While the 3-4 and 5-6 grade age groups’ practices will be led by the BVHS Boys Basketball coaches and players.\n \nGame schedule and locations will be released after the season begins. All age groups will begin practice the week of Monday\, October 19. All age groups will play their first games on Saturday\, October 31 and final games on Saturday\, December 12. Games will typically be played 4v4 on a full 2-hoop side court. Players and coaches will receive a team t-shirt\, which is included in the registration fee. Players need to wear non-marking athletic shoes while on the court.\n \nSeason Dates: October 19 – December 12 (No practices or games the week of November 23 – November 29 due to Thanksgiving)\n \nAge: Players in Grades 3-4\n \n\nCost: Early Registration Discount (Register Before October 3rd) – $65\nRegister After October 2nd – $80\n\n \nPractice Times: Thursdays @ 5:45-6:45pm\n \nPractice Location: Buena Vista High School Gyms (559 S Railroad St)\n                                Boys – Red Gym; Girls – White Gym\n \nGame Day: Saturdays beginning October 31\n \nGame Locations: Boys – Darren Patterson Christian Academy (518 S San Juan Ave)\n                              Girls – Avery Parsons Elementary School (516 E Main St) & McGinnis Gym (Next to Elementary School)\n \nEARLY REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday\, October 2nd\, 2026\nREGISTRATION DEADLINE: Monday\, October 12\, 2026\n \n\nVolunteer Parent Coaches for each team are needed! Volunteer parent coaches are eligible to receive a 50% participant registration fee refund at the end of the season.
