This program is designed for teens and young adults\, ages 14+\, in Chaffee County and nearby areas. \nProgram Goals: \n\nImprove communication and teamwork skills\nBuild confidence\nDevelop social and cognitive skills\n\nDetails: \n\nActivities and outings will have a ratio of 1 support staff for every 3 participants.\nIf more one-on-one help is needed\, participants must bring their own volunteer or mentor.\nSeparate registration is required for each participant to ensure space availability.\n\nTransportation & Financial Assistance: \n\nFor help with transportation to/from River Runners\, contact Jill Lowry at jill@achievelifeskills.org or 303-815-4436.\nScholarships are available! DESCRIPTION:Achieve Social Outing: Night at the Buena Vista Heritage Museum!  \nCoed \nAges: 14 and Older \n$5/Participant \nSaturday\, August 16 and Sunday\, August 17\, 2025 \nRegistration Deadline: Wednesday\, August 13\, 2025 at 5:00pm \nBuena Vista Recreation is excited to partner with Achieve\, Inc to offer stand-alone Achieve Social programs designed to support and include neurodivergent individuals\, including those on the autism spectrum\, with ADD/ADHD\, and related disabilities. The inclusive outings provide opportunities to build communication\, teamwork\, and confidence\, while supporting social and cognitive growth for individuals in Chaffee County and the surrounding area. \nEvents are designed for individuals ages 14 and up. Each activity is supported by trained staff and volunteers\, with a minimum ratio of one support person for every three participants. If a participant requires more individualized support\, they are welcome to attend withe a personal caregiver\, mentor\, or support person. All attendees – including neurodivergent individuals\, friends\, family members\, and volunteers – must register separately to ensure adequate planning and accommodation. \nUpcoming Event: Night at the Museum! \nJoin us for a special overnight event celebrating the end of the season for the Little Engine Eatery. Starting at 4:45pm on Saturday\, August 16th at the Buena Vista Heritage Museum\, located at 560 E Main Street in Buena Vista\, CO. Participants will enjoy: \n\nA private tour of the museum\nA pizza dinner\nA walking tour of Buena Vista’s haunted spots\nGames and a movie back at the museum before lights out\n\nThe event concludes with breakfast the next morning. Participants should be picked up by 9:00am on Sunday\, August 17th. \nAccessibility and Accommodations: \nWe are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible experience. DESCRIPTION:5-6 Grade Youth Basketball – Fall 2025 \nBV Rec & BVHS Boys Basketball are partnering once again to bring you the Youth Basketball League! The League is open for players in K-6th Grades. Girls & Boys will be split into volunteer-coached teams in the 1-2\, 3-4\, and 5-6 grade divisions. The Kindergarten age group will be coed and run camp-style (practices and scrimmages during the week with no games on the weekends). Practices will be led by trained BV Rec Practice Facilitators for the Kindergarten and 1-2 grade age groups. While the 3-4 and 5-6 grade age groups’ practices will be led by the BVHS Boys Basketball coaches and players.  \n \nGame schedule and locations will be released after the season begins. All age groups will begin practice the week of Monday\, October 13. All age groups will play their first games on Saturday\, October 25 and final games on Saturday\, December 6. Games will typically be played 4v4 on a full 2-hoop side court. Players and coaches will receive a team t-shirt\, which is included in the registration fee.
