All proceeds will go toward Gary’s time and wear and tear on his game collection. Please support Gary and his passion to provide gaming opportunities for his community! \nBV Rec is excited to be offering Game Night! This program was formerly held at the Buena Vista Public Library and will now be teaming up with Buena Vista Recreation to bring you a day of board games for the whole family. \nGame night will be available to all age ranges. There will be a large variety of games to play\, spanning from games that can accommodate two people or a larger group. Game night will be hosted in collaboration with Gary Johnson who has an extensive library of games that he will have available\, as well as his knowledge on the rules and game play information. \nCome enjoy an exciting day of fun! Game night is for everyone\, with games that will entertain kids\, teens\, adults and seniors alike! \nPlease feel free to bring your own snack and beverage to the event (Non-alcoholic beverages only\, no alcohol allowed on site.) \nDrop in anytime between 12:00-9:00pm \nFALL 2026 EVENTS \nSEPTEMBER 12TH – “THE GREAT OUTDOORS” \n– Beautiful games that are themed about Nature and the Great Outdoors (Game Day co-hosted with GARNA). Games perfect to relax to when it’s time to come inside from the “Flaming Foliage Races” or “Applefest at Turner Farm” and play some fun games themed around the Fall Harvest Season\, Beautiful Leaves\, Nature\, and our great outdoors. \nOCTOBER 10TH – “SPOOKY FUN” \n– Featured Games for all ages with a “Spooky” Theme. DESCRIPTION:Coed Kindergarten Youth Basketball – Fall 2026 \nBV Rec & BVHS Boys Basketball are partnering once again to bring you the Youth Basketball League! The League is open for players in K-6th Grades. The Kindergarten age group will be coed and run camp-style (practices and scrimmages during the week with no games on the weekend. Practices will be led by trained BV Rec Practice Facilitators for the Kindergarten and 1-2 Grade age groups. All age groups will begin practice the week of Monday\, October 19.\n \nSeason Dates: October 19 – December 7 (No practices or games the week of November 23 – November 29 due to Thanksgiving.)\n \nAge: Coed Players in Kindergarten\n \n\nCost: Early Registration Discount (Register Before October 3rd) – $40\nRegister After October 2nd – $50\n\n \nPractice Times: Mondays @ 4:00-4:45pm\n \nPractice Location: Darren Patterson Christian Academy (518 S San Juan)\n \n*The Kindergarten age group will be coed and will be run camp-style. Practices will consist of drills for the first 15-20 minutes and then players will be split into teams and will scrimmage for the remainder of practice time. SUMMARY:Youth Basketball League - Grades 1-2 - 2026
DESCRIPTION:1-2 Grade Youth Basketball – Fall 2026 \nBV Rec & BVHS Boys Basketball are partnering once again to bring you the Youth Basketball League! The League is open for players in K-6th Grades. Girls & Boys will be split into volunteer-coached teams in the 1-2\, 3-4\, and 5-6 grade divisions. The Kindergarten age group will be coed and run camp-style (practices and scrimmages during the week with no games on the weekends). Practices will be led by trained BV Rec Practice Facilitators for the Kindergarten and 1-2 grade age groups. While the 3-4 and 5-6 grade age groups’ practices will be led by the BVHS Boys Basketball coaches and players.\n \nGame schedule and locations will be released after the season begins. All age groups will begin practice the week of Monday\, October 19. All age groups will play their first games on Saturday\, October 31 and final games on Saturday\, December 12. Games will typically be played 4v4 on a full 2-hoop side court. Players and coaches will receive a team t-shirt\, which is included in the registration fee. SUMMARY:Youth Basketball League - Grades 1-2 - 2026
DESCRIPTION:1-2 Grade Youth Basketball – Fall 2026 \nBV Rec & BVHS Boys Basketball are partnering once again to bring you the Youth Basketball League! The League is open for players in K-6th Grades. Girls & Boys will be split into volunteer-coached teams in the 1-2\, 3-4\, and 5-6 grade divisions. The Kindergarten age group will be coed and run camp-style (practices and scrimmages during the week with no games on the weekends). Practices will be led by trained BV Rec Practice Facilitators for the Kindergarten and 1-2 grade age groups. While the 3-4 and 5-6 grade age groups’ practices will be led by the BVHS Boys Basketball coaches and players.\n \nGame schedule and locations will be released after the season begins. All age groups will begin practice the week of Monday\, October 19. All age groups will play their first games on Saturday\, October 31 and final games on Saturday\, December 12. Games will typically be played 4v4 on a full 2-hoop side court. Players and coaches will receive a team t-shirt\, which is included in the registration fee. Players need to wear non-marking athletic shoes while on the court.\n \nSeason Dates: October 19 – December 12 (No practices or games the week of November 23 – November 29 due to Thanksgiving)\n \nAge: Players in Grades 1-2\n \n\nCost: Early Registration Discount (Register Before October 3) – $50\nRegister After October 2- $65\n\n \nPractice Times: Mondays @ 5:00-5:45pm for the Girls and Mondays @ 6:00-6:45pm for the Boys\n \nPractice Location: Darren Patterson Christian Academy (518 S San Juan)\n \nGame Day: Saturdays beginning October 31\n \nGame Locations: Darren Patterson Christian Academy (518 S San Juan)\n \n*If we do not have enough participants to create a minimum of four teams in both the 1-2 Grade Boys and 1-2 Grade Girls divisions\, we will combine both Boys and Girls into one 1-2 Grade division with coed teams.
