DESCRIPTION:Mountain Bike Skills Camp – Ages: 7-14 \n Beginner $100  –  4 weeks; 10 total hours \nAdvanced and Intermediate $160  –  4 weeks; 16 total hours \n1 Beginner Level Group\, 1 Intermediate Level Group\, and 1 Advanced Level Group \nMax of 10 Kids per Level Group \nRegistration Opens Friday\, May 2nd at 12:00pm (Noon)! \nProgram Dates: July 1-31 \n\nBeginner Level (Ages 7-10):\n\nTuesdays\, July 1\, July 8\, and July 15 – 8:30am-10:30am\nTuesday\, July 22 – 8:30am-12:30pm\n\n\n\n\nIntermediate Level (Ages 9-12):\n\nWednesday\, July 2\, July 9\, July 16\, and July 23 – 8:30am-12:30pm\n\n\n\n\nAdvanced Level (Ages 11-14):\n\nThursdays\, July 10\, July 17\, and July 24 – 8:30am-12:30pm\nThursday\, July 31 – 12:30pm-4:30pm\n\n\n\nGet your bikes and helmets ready for BV Rec’s Youth Mountain Bike Skills Camp! \nThe Beginner Level is designed for kids who are excited to learn the basics of mountain biking while getting to practice and be pushed alongside their peers. This is NOT a program to teach kids how to ride a bike. Participants must already know how to ride a bike. The Intermediate Level is designed for kids who are ready to take their mountain biking to the next level. From learning new skills around town to putting those skills to the test on some of the region’s best mountain bike trails\, this course will push you to be your best. \nHave you been riding for years and are ready to take your skills to the next level? Then the Advanced Level camp is meant for you! The Advanced Level is designed for kids who have already completed an Intermediate Level with BV Rec in the past. Riders will be participating in inherently dangerous activities\, and for this level\, riders will have to be at least 10 years old. This level is meant for advanced and older riders due to the terrain and trails that will be enjoyed during this class. BV Rec reserves the right to move participants to different levels.  \nThe Beginner Level will consist of three\, 2-hour sessions and one\, 4-hour session and participants will stay in BV and utilize the BV River Park and Midland trails. The Intermediate Level and Advance Level will consist of four\, 4-hour sessions. The Intermediate and Advanced Level groups will utilize some BV trails\, and will also travel to Leadville\, Twin Lakes\, and Salida to introduce the participants to beginner/beginner-intermediate mountain bike trails that BV does not offer. In Leadville\, we will use the CMC Timberline trails\, in Twin Lakes\, we will use the Interlaken trail\, and in Salida\, we will use the Rainbow Spartan trails. This equates to a total of 10 hours for each beginner participant and 16 hours for each intermediate and advanced level participant.  \nDrop off and pick-up will take place at the Buena Vista Community Center (715 E Main St). The sessions will be led by experienced mountain bikers\, with additional help provided from various mountain bike experts and advocates from the local Buena Vista community. \nMinimum of 20” bikes with hand brakes and gears. Participants must have a bike-mounted water bottle or hydration pack. Helmets required; gloves recommended. Snacks are highly recommended and plenty of water is required. Then the Advanced Level camp is meant for you! The Advanced Level is designed for kids who have already completed an Intermediate Level with BV Rec in the past. Riders will be participating in inherently dangerous activities\, and for this level\, riders will have to be at least 10 years old. This level is meant for advanced and older riders due to the terrain and trails that will be enjoyed during this class. BV Rec reserves the right to move participants to different levels.  \nThe Beginner Level will consist of three\, 2-hour sessions and one\, 4-hour session and participants will stay in BV and utilize the BV River Park and Midland trails. The Intermediate Level and Advance Level will consist of four\, 4-hour sessions. The Intermediate and Advanced Level groups will utilize some BV trails\, and will also travel to Leadville\, Twin Lakes\, and Salida to introduce the participants to beginner/beginner-intermediate mountain bike trails that BV does not offer. In Leadville\, we will use the CMC Timberline trails\, in Twin Lakes\, we will use the Interlaken trail\, and in Salida\, we will use the Rainbow Spartan trails. This is NOT a program to teach kids how to ride a bike. Participants must already know how to ride a bike. The Intermediate Level is designed for kids who are ready to take their mountain biking to the next level. From learning new skills around town to putting those skills to the test on some of the region’s best mountain bike trails\, this course will push you to be your best. \nHave you been riding for years and are ready to take your skills to the next level? Then the Advanced Level camp is meant for you! The Advanced Level is designed for kids who have already completed an Intermediate Level with BV Rec in the past. Riders will be participating in inherently dangerous activities\, and for this level\, riders will have to be at least 10 years old. This level is meant for advanced and older riders due to the terrain and trails that will be enjoyed during this class. BV Rec reserves the right to move participants to different levels.  \nThe Beginner Level will consist of three\, 2-hour sessions and one\, 4-hour session and participants will stay in BV and utilize the BV River Park and Midland trails. The Intermediate Level and Advance Level will consist of four\, 4-hour sessions. The Intermediate and Advanced Level groups will utilize some BV trails\, and will also travel to Leadville\, Twin Lakes\, and Salida to introduce the participants to beginner/beginner-intermediate mountain bike trails that BV does not offer. In Leadville\, we will use the CMC Timberline trails\, in Twin Lakes\, we will use the Interlaken trail\, and in Salida\, we will use the Rainbow Spartan trails. This equates to a total of 10 hours for each beginner participant and 16 hours for each intermediate and advanced level participant.  \nDrop off and pick-up will take place at the Buena Vista Community Center (715 E Main St). The sessions will be led by experienced mountain bikers\, with additional help provided from various mountain bike experts and advocates from the local Buena Vista community. \nMinimum of 20” bikes with hand brakes and gears.
