DESCRIPTION:Youth Summer Basketball Skills & Fun \nCoed  –  Grades 3-8 (as of Fall 2025)  –  $75    \nSundays\, June 1\, 8\, 15 & 22  –  Grades 3-5: 5:00-6:00pm  –  Grades 6-8: 6:00-7:00pm       \nBuena Vista High School Red and White Gyms (559 South Railroad)\n \nBuena Vista Recreation is excited to partner with Coach Kevin Lubbers and Coach Scott Crites to provide a summer youth basketball skills clinic! This program is for anyone that enjoys basketball and has a desire to improve their skills and have fun while doing so. Everyone is welcome\, regardless of your basketball background and experience. Coach Lubbers has 20 years of College Basketball coaching experience and leading camps just like this one. Coach Crites is the current Associate Head Coach for Girls Varsity Basketball\, the AD at BV High School\, and a staple of Buena Vista Basketball for many years on the Boys and Girls sides. Coach Lubbers and Coach Crites will have the help of high school basketball players assisting them with the goal of individual player development. Our goal is to provide a positive environment so each athlete will gain confidence as a basketball player while improving their physical skills. This program is for anyone that enjoys basketball and has a desire to improve their skills and have fun while doing so. Everyone is welcome\, regardless of your basketball background and experience. Coach Lubbers has 20 years of College Basketball coaching experience and leading camps just like this one. Coach Crites is the current Associate Head Coach for Girls Varsity Basketball\, the AD at BV High School\, and a staple of Buena Vista Basketball for many years on the Boys and Girls sides. Coach Lubbers and Coach Crites will have the help of high school basketball players assisting them with the goal of individual player development. Our goal is to provide a positive environment so each athlete will gain confidence as a basketball player while improving their physical skills. DESCRIPTION:Rockies Skills Challenge 2025 \nDate: Saturday\, June 14 from 10:00am-12:00pm (Registration at 9:30am) \nAges: 6-13 (as of August 9\, 2025: proposed date of the Rockies Skills Challenge State Competition) \nCost: FREE! \nLocation: Buena Vista High School Baseball Field \nThe Rockies Baseball Skills Challenge provides the youth of Colorado with a statewide baseball competition testing their skills in running\, hitting and throwing. See how fast you can run the bases\, how far you can hit\, and how far you can throw. There are four age divisions: 6/7\, 8/9\, 10/11 and 12/13 for both boys and girls. The top scorer in each age group will advance to a Sectional Competition\, with a chance to compete at the State Championship. \nThe BV Local Competition will be held Saturday\, June 14 at the High School Baseball Field in the Buena Vista River Park. Registration will be from 9:30-10:00am\, and the Competition will begin at 10:00am. The Competition typically lasts 1.5-2.5 hours\, including awards\, depending on the number of participants. \nNo metal spike shoes will be permitted. Only sneakers or plastic/rubber cleats. You are allowed to bring your own bat if you wish. This program is for anyone that enjoys basketball and has a desire to improve their skills and have fun while doing so. Everyone is welcome\, regardless of your basketball background and experience. Coach Lubbers has 20 years of College Basketball coaching experience and leading camps just like this one. Coach Crites is the current Associate Head Coach for Girls Varsity Basketball\, the AD at BV High School\, and a staple of Buena Vista Basketball for many years on the Boys and Girls sides. Coach Lubbers and Coach Crites will have the help of high school basketball players assisting them with the goal of individual player development. Our goal is to provide a positive environment so each athlete will gain confidence as a basketball player while improving their physical skills.
