SUMMARY:Youth Basketball League - Grades 3-4 - 2025
DESCRIPTION:3-4 Grade Youth Basketball – Fall 2025 \nBV Rec & BVHS Boys Basketball are partnering once again to bring you the Youth Basketball League! The League is open for players in K-6th Grades. Girls & Boys will be split into volunteer-coached teams in the 1-2\, 3-4\, and 5-6 grade divisions. The Kindergarten age group will be coed and run camp-style (practices and scrimmages during the week with no games on the weekends). Practices will be led by trained BV Rec Practice Facilitators for the Kindergarten and 1-2 grade age groups. While the 3-4 and 5-6 grade age groups’ practices will be led by the BVHS Boys Basketball coaches and players.\n \nGame schedule and locations will be released after the season begins. All age groups will begin practice the week of Monday\, October 13. All age groups will play their first games on Saturday\, October 25 and final games on Saturday\, December 6. Games will typically be played 4v4 on a full 2-hoop side court. Players and coaches will receive a team t-shirt\, which is included in the registration fee. SUMMARY:Youth Basketball League - Grades 1-2 - 2025
DESCRIPTION:1-2 Grade Youth Basketball – Fall 2025 \nBV Rec & BVHS Boys Basketball are partnering once again to bring you the Youth Basketball League! The League is open for players in K-6th Grades. Girls & Boys will be split into volunteer-coached teams in the 1-2\, 3-4\, and 5-6 grade divisions. The Kindergarten age group will be coed and run camp-style (practices and scrimmages during the week with no games on the weekends). Practices will be led by trained BV Rec Practice Facilitators for the Kindergarten and 1-2 grade age groups. While the 3-4 and 5-6 grade age groups’ practices will be led by the BVHS Boys Basketball coaches and players.\n \nGame schedule and locations will be released after the season begins. All age groups will begin practice the week of Monday\, October 13. All age groups will play their first games on Saturday\, October 25 and final games on Saturday\, December 6. Games will typically be played 4v4 on a full 2-hoop side court. Players and coaches will receive a team t-shirt\, which is included in the registration fee. Players need to wear non-marking athletic shoes while on the court.\n \nSeason Dates: October 13 – December 6 (No practices or games the week of November 24 – November 30 due to Thanksgiving)\n \nAge: Players in Grades 1-2\n \n\nCost: Early Registration Discount (Register Before September 15) – $50\nRegister After September 15 – $65\n\n \nPractice Times: Mondays @ 5:00-5:45pm for the Girls and Mondays @ 6:00-6:45pm for the Boys\n \nPractice Location: Darren Patterson Christian Academy (518 S San Juan)\n \nGame Day: Saturdays beginning October 25\n \nGame Locations: Darren Patterson Christian Academy (518 S San Juan)\n \n*If we do not have enough participants to create a minimum of four teams in both the 1-2 Grade Boys and 1-2 Grade Girls divisions\, we will combine both Boys and Girls into one 1-2 Grade division with coed teams. This decision will be made by BV Rec staff after the registration deadline and is solely dependent on number of participants.*\n \nREGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday\, September 26\, 2025\n \n \n\nVolunteer Parent Coaches for each team are needed! A Coaches Meeting will be held on Thursday\, October 9 at 6:00pm in the Community Center. Please contact Ben at 719-581-1052 or bbuschur@buenavistaco.gov\, if interested. Volunteer parent coaches are eligible to receive a 50% participant registration fee refund at the end of the season. Please contact Ben towards the end of the season if you wish to receive this refund.
