This program is for anyone that enjoys basketball and has a desire to improve their skills and have fun while doing so. Everyone is welcome\, regardless of your basketball background and experience. Coach Lubbers has 20 years of College Basketball coaching experience and leading camps just like this one. Coach Crites is the current Associate Head Coach for Girls Varsity Basketball\, the AD at BV High School\, and a staple of Buena Vista Basketball for many years on the Boys and Girls sides. Coach Lubbers and Coach Crites will have the help of high school basketball players assisting them with the goal of individual player development. Our goal is to provide a positive environment so each athlete will gain confidence as a basketball player while improving their physical skills. Practices for the Girls Softball League will begin the week of May 26. Practices will be held from 9:00-11:00am on Tuesdays & Fridays for 8U/10U and on Mondays & Wednesdays for 14U/18U. A BV Rec Practice Facilitator will lead practice on Wednesdays for 14U/18U and on Fridays for 8U/10U. Volunteer team coaches will lead practice on Mondays for 14U/18U and on Tuesdays for 8U/10U.\n \nThe 8U age group will use Coach Pitch\, the 10U age group will use Modified Live Pitch\, and the 14U/18U age groups will use Live Pitch. Games will be played in Buena Vista\, Salida\, Gunnison\, Alamosa\, and other communities\, as scheduled. Ages are calculated as of December 31\, 2024. NO PRACICE WILL TAKE PLACE ON MONDAY\, MAY 26 FOR MEMORIAL DAY. NO PRACTICE OR GAMES WILL TAKE PLACE ON THURSDAY\, JULY 3 OR FRIDAY\, JULY 4.\n \nRegistration for the Girls Softball League includes a team jersey. Participants may purchase Charcoal Softball Pants and a BV Rec Visor through BV Rec during registration for $15 each. Visors and charcoal softball pants are not required for games or practices. All players should have their own glove. Cleats or running shoes are recommended. Metal cleats are not allowed.\n \nRegistration for the Girls Softball League will include a Preseason Skills Clinic and Assessment led by the Buena Vista Recreation Department before the start of the season. The date and time are TBD.\n \n*Please be aware that girls softball age groups may be combined with other age groups\, depending on the number of players in each age group. Participants may purchase a BV Baseball hat for an additional $15. Hats are not required for games or practices. All players should have their own glove. Cleats or running shoes are recommended. Metal cleats are not allowed. White Baseball Pants can be purchased through BV Rec during registration for $15\, but are not required.\n \n\nRegistration for 8U Coach Pitch\, 10U Modified Live Pitch\, and 12U Live Pitch will include a preseason Skills Clinic and Assessment led by the Buena Vista High School Baseball Team. DESCRIPTION:Adult Men’s Softball League – Ages 16+ \nTeam Registration Fee: $350/team\, Player Registration Fee: $40/player \nThursdays-Fridays\, 6:00-10:00pm   June 12 – August 15 \nGrab your glove and get ready for another season of Adult Slow Pitch Men’s Softball! The league will consist of a round-robin season\, followed by a postseason tournament. Games will be officiated by paid umpires. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 9 games\, including tournament. \nThere is a 12 team maximum\, so please register early! \nNo games will be held on Thursday\, July 3rd and Friday\, July 4th. \nWE NEED MORE SOFTBALL UMPIRES!
