The Intermediate Level is designed for kids who are ready to take their mountain biking to the next level. From learning new skills around town to putting those skills to the test on some of the region’s best mountain bike trails\, this course will push you to be your best. \nHave you been riding for years and are ready to take your skills to the next level? Then the Advanced Level camp is meant for you! The Advanced Level is designed for kids who have already completed an Intermediate Level with BV Rec in the past. Riders will be participating in inherently dangerous activities\, and for this level\, riders will have to be at least 10 years old. This level is meant for advanced and older riders due to the terrain and trails that will be enjoyed during this class. BV Rec reserves the right to move participants to different levels.  \nThe Beginner Level will consist of three\, 2-hour sessions and one\, 4-hour session and participants will stay in BV and utilize the BV River Park and Midland trails. The Intermediate Level and Advance Level will consist of four\, 4-hour sessions. The Intermediate and Advanced Level groups will utilize some BV trails\, and will also travel to Leadville\, Twin Lakes\, and Salida to introduce the participants to beginner/beginner-intermediate mountain bike trails that BV does not offer. In Leadville\, we will use the CMC Timberline trails\, in Twin Lakes\, we will use the Interlaken trail\, and in Salida\, we will use the Rainbow Spartan trails. This equates to a total of 10 hours for each beginner participant and 16 hours for each intermediate and advanced level participant.  \nDrop off and pick-up will take place at the Buena Vista Community Center (715 E Main St). The sessions will be led by experienced mountain bikers\, with additional help provided from various mountain bike experts and advocates from the local Buena Vista community. \nMinimum of 20” bikes with hand brakes and gears. BV Rec reserves the right to move participants to different levels.  \nThe Beginner Level will consist of three\, 2-hour sessions and one\, 4-hour session and participants will stay in BV and utilize the BV River Park and Midland trails. The Intermediate Level and Advance Level will consist of four\, 4-hour sessions. The Intermediate and Advanced Level groups will utilize some BV trails\, and will also travel to Leadville\, Twin Lakes\, and Salida to introduce the participants to beginner/beginner-intermediate mountain bike trails that BV does not offer. In Leadville\, we will use the CMC Timberline trails\, in Twin Lakes\, we will use the Interlaken trail\, and in Salida\, we will use the Rainbow Spartan trails. DESCRIPTION:Achieve Social Outing: Night at the Buena Vista Heritage Museum!  \nCoed \nAges: 14 and Older \n$5/Participant \nSaturday\, August 16 and Sunday\, August 17\, 2025 \nRegistration Deadline: Wednesday\, August 13\, 2025 at 5:00pm \nBuena Vista Recreation is excited to partner with Achieve\, Inc to offer stand-alone Achieve Social programs designed to support and include neurodivergent individuals\, including those on the autism spectrum\, with ADD/ADHD\, and related disabilities. The inclusive outings provide opportunities to build communication\, teamwork\, and confidence\, while supporting social and cognitive growth for individuals in Chaffee County and the surrounding area. \nEvents are designed for individuals ages 14 and up. Each activity is supported by trained staff and volunteers\, with a minimum ratio of one support person for every three participants. If a participant requires more individualized support\, they are welcome to attend withe a personal caregiver\, mentor\, or support person. All attendees – including neurodivergent individuals\, friends\, family members\, and volunteers – must register separately to ensure adequate planning and accommodation. \nUpcoming Event: Night at the Museum! \nJoin us for a special overnight event celebrating the end of the season for the Little Engine Eatery. Starting at 4:45pm on Saturday\, August 16th at the Buena Vista Heritage Museum\, located at 560 E Main Street in Buena Vista\, CO.
