SUMMARY:Youth Basketball League - Grades 5-6 - 2025
DESCRIPTION:5-6 Grade Youth Basketball – Fall 2025 \nBV Rec & BVHS Boys Basketball are partnering once again to bring you the Youth Basketball League! The League is open for players in K-6th Grades. Girls & Boys will be split into volunteer-coached teams in the 1-2\, 3-4\, and 5-6 grade divisions. The Kindergarten age group will be coed and run camp-style (practices and scrimmages during the week with no games on the weekends). Practices will be led by trained BV Rec Practice Facilitators for the Kindergarten and 1-2 grade age groups. While the 3-4 and 5-6 grade age groups’ practices will be led by the BVHS Boys Basketball coaches and players.  \n \nGame schedule and locations will be released after the season begins. All age groups will begin practice the week of Monday\, October 13. All age groups will play their first games on Saturday\, October 25 and final games on Saturday\, December 6. Games will typically be played 4v4 on a full 2-hoop side court. Players and coaches will receive a team t-shirt\, which is included in the registration fee. The inclusive outings provide opportunities to build communication\, teamwork\, and confidence\, while supporting social and cognitive growth for individuals in Chaffee County and the surrounding area. \nEvents are designed for individuals ages 14 and up. Each activity is supported by trained staff and volunteers\, with a minimum ratio of one support person for every three participants. If a participant requires more individualized support\, they are welcome to attend withe a personal caregiver\, mentor\, or support person. DESCRIPTION:Youth Summer Basketball Skills & Fun \nCoed  –  Grades 3-8 (as of Fall 2025)  –  $75    \nSundays\, June 1\, 8\, 15 & 22  –  Grades 3-5: 5:00-6:00pm  –  Grades 6-8: 6:00-7:00pm       \nBuena Vista High School Red and White Gyms (559 South Railroad)\n \nBuena Vista Recreation is excited to partner with Coach Kevin Lubbers and Coach Scott Crites to provide a summer youth basketball skills clinic! This program is for anyone that enjoys basketball and has a desire to improve their skills and have fun while doing so. Everyone is welcome\, regardless of your basketball background and experience. Coach Lubbers has 20 years of College Basketball coaching experience and leading camps just like this one. Coach Crites is the current Associate Head Coach for Girls Varsity Basketball\, the AD at BV High School\, and a staple of Buena Vista Basketball for many years on the Boys and Girls sides. Coach Lubbers and Coach Crites will have the help of high school basketball players assisting them with the goal of individual player development. Our goal is to provide a positive environment so each athlete will gain confidence as a basketball player while improving their physical skills. DESCRIPTION:The Most Eggcellent 10K\, 5K\, and Easter Egg Hunt occurs on Easter weekend on the Saturday immediately before Easter.  The foot races travel throughout the west side of Buena Vista\, offering beautiful views of Mount Princeton on both courses.  The Easter Egg Hunt is for kids ages 0 – 5th grade\, and it’s a flurry of activity to see how many eggs can be collected!
