BV REC works with local enthusiasts, instructors, businesses and citizens, and currently provides over 75 athletic, cultural, and expeditionary activities. We know you’ll find something here you’ll like! If what you’re looking for isn’t offered, we will work with you to find out where it is offered or what might be required to get it going.

Programs

Athletics

Sports leagues or recurring athletic programs. This includes softball, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and other recreational and competitive leagues.

Outdoor Rec

Nature-based programs aimed at community engagement & conservation like group bike rides, 4x4 meet ups, cross country skiing, or trail building.

Fitness

Organized activities aimed at physical fitness and health. This includes yoga, group workout classes, swimming, gymnastics, martial arts, and more.

Special Events

Local community events that focus on recreation activities. Examples include concerts, tournaments & races.

Special Interests

Fun programs geared toward special topics of interest like bridge, seniors, dog lovers, or children's play groups.

Fine Arts

Recurring activities focused on artistic expression such as weekly art classes, music lessons, and dance classes.

As you explore local programs online, you can sign up instantly! You can also print the Registration Form below and return it by mail (PO Box 2002, Buena Vista, CO 81211) or drop it off at Town Hall (210 E Main Street). Please contact us or the specific program organizer with any questions!

Submit an Event

This website is intended to be a one-stop source for all things recreational in Buena Vista. In addition to programs hosted by the Town of Buena Vista Recreation Department, other organizations are welcome to submit programs that fall within the mission statement of the Recreation Advisory Board.

Program Proposals

We’d love to hear your ideas for new programs that inspire a variety of interests, including sports, music, and fine arts. Please submit your ideas for events and activities that promote community development through positive social interaction and facilitate stewardship of our outdoor recreation resources.

BV Rec Policies - Refunds & Late Fees

Refunds for recreation programs will be given if a participant withdraws before the registration deadline for the program. Full or partial refunds may be given if a participant withdraws after the registration deadline due to a medical or family emergency. Refunds will not be granted for program cancellations due to inclement weather or other circumstances beyond the control of the Recreation Department. Late registrations for youth sports programs will be accepted until the first games of the season have been played.

A late fee will be charged for registrations submitted after the registration deadline of each program. For youth sports, the fee will be 50% of the registration fee for the program. For adult sports, the fee will be $50 per team.

Buena Vista Recreation reserves the right to remove any participant, volunteer, or spectator from any programs BV Rec facilitates at the discretion of staff.
