PLANNING A WEDDING IN TOWN?

 

The Town of Buena Vista does not operate any town-owned properties that are ideally suited for weddings and has no wedding planners on town staff.

However, there are an almost unlimited number of private venues, planners, supporting agencies, and other resources that can help make your special day one to remember for the rest of your life!  Check out the links below for more information!

Community Center

Due to the increased infection rate and deaths in our local area as a result of COVID and its variants, the following guidance went into effect 01 September, 2021:
  • Masks are strongly encouraged in all indoor spaces utilized for the conduct of Town business regardless of an individual’s vaccination status. 
  • Town staff are required to wear a mask for all indoor interactions with the public. 
  • Town staff do not have to wear masks when working in individual offices or in indoor spaces where a minimum of 6 feet distancing from other staff can be maintained.   
We are still operating with the following capacity limitations:
  • Pinon Room: 40 persons total
  • Aspen Room: 20 persons total
  • Kitchen: 5 persons total

 

 

DUE TO COVID-19, The Community Center Remains CLOSED to THE PUBLIC.  Small Groups May utilize the facility with a reservation only.

To ensure our community facilities remain available for use to the community, the following is a list of priority of use when making reservations:

  1. Town Board of Trustees, Town Staff Meetings, Municipal Court, Chaffee Co Commissioners, and other official local government meetings as determined by the Town Administrator
  2. Programs, classes, meetings, and other activities as part of Buena Vista Recreation Department
  3. Town Advisory Board meetings
  4. Events with an approved Special Event Permit from the Town of Buena Vista (able to reserve up to 12 months in advance)
  5. Meetings of local nonprofit organizations that are registered with the Colorado Secretary of State and have a Chaffee County address (able to reserve up to six months in advance)
  6. Other rental inquiries may be able to make reservations depending on the availability of facilities no more than 60 days in advance.

The Buena Vista Community Center is available to host meetings, presentations, special events, and a variety of other activities.   Requested deposits of $100 and full rental fee payments must be received at least 24 hours prior to room use.

Alcohol is NOT permitted on Town Property, including the Community Center.

The Buena Vista Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for receiving applications and scheduling events on the Community Center calendar. For more information or to schedule use of the Community Center, please contact us

To avoid delays in your reservation due to staffing shortages, users are encouraged to utilize our online booking system (using the button below).  For users that are unable or unwilling to utilize our online reservation system, please expect up to 3-5 business days for a response from staff to contact you for assistance.  Reservations are handled on a first come, first serve basis and we are currently experiencing unprecedented levels of inquiries for our parks, pavilions, and meeting rooms.

Currently, the public shower facilities are available at the restrooms on the north side of the community center.  These showers are quarter operated – 4 quarters for 2 minutes. There is not a quarter machine at the facility, so please come prepared.  Contact our Parks Department at  719-581-1044 for more information or to check to see if the showers are open before arriving.

The Community Center Park has fun for all ages! There is a swing set, slides, a jungle gym, and musical play equipment. Circuit workout equipment is located adjacent to the playground so parents can get a workout in while the kids play.

Open Wifi is available, if your event or reservation requires a secure internet connection we recommend bringing your own hotspot.

Please note that the Community Center only accepts public reservations up to 60 days advance.

Aspen

Occupancy:

  • approx 25′ x 40′ room size
  • 63 people (currently limited to 20 people due to COVID-19)

Available Equipment:

  • Chairs– 50
  • 5’ Round Tables– 3
  • 6’ x 30″ Plastic Tables (Rectangle)– 9
  • Pull-Down Screen and portable projector

Fees

  • $50 (under 4 hours)
  • $80 (4 hours or more)
  • $100 Refundable Damage Deposit

 

Kitchen

This commercial kitchen is great for hosting a cooking party, providing refreshments for a meeting, or cooking wedding meals– the possibilities are endless! Dishwashing facilities, stove, oven, refrigerator, and microwave are all available for use.  This is a small room and limited to up to 5 people.

Fees

  • Only rented out by entire day
  • $100 (4 hours or more)
  • $100 Refundable Damage Deposit
