The Girls Softball League is back for Summer 2022!

Practices for the Girls Softball League will begin the week of May 31. Practices will be held from 9:00-11:00am on Tuesdays & Fridays for 10U, and on Mondays & Wednesdays for 14U & 18U. A BV Rec Practice Facilitator will lead practice on Wednesdays for 14U & 18U and on Fridays for 10U. Volunteer team coaches will lead practice on Mondays for 14U & 18U and on Tuesdays for 10U. 10U will use Machine Pitch, and 14U and 18U will use Fast Pitch. Games will be played in Buena Vista, Salida, Gunnison, Alamosa, and other communities, as scheduled. Ages are calculated as of December 31, 2021. Charcoal Softball Pants can be purchased through BV Rec during registration for $15, but are not required. NO PRACTICE OR GAMES WILL TAKE PLACE ON MONDAY, MAY 30 (Memorial Day) OR MONDAY, JULY 4.

 

Registration for the Girls Softball League will include a preseason Skills Clinic and Assessment led by the Buena Vista Recreation Department. The Skills Clinic and Assessment will be held Monday, May 23 from 4:00-5:30pm at the Sheila Stout Memorial Softball Field.

 

 

 

Volunteer Parent Coaches for each team are needed! A Coaches Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 25 at 6:00pm at the Community Center. Please contact Tucker at 719-581-1051 or programs@buenavistaco.gov, if interested. Volunteer coaches will receive a discount code for 50% off the registration fee. Please reach out to Tucker if you are interested in being a Practice Facilitator, Umpire, or Scorekeeper for Girls, Men’s and Coed Softball Leagues. Scholarships are also available at https://www.buenavistarec.com/scholarships/. Please contact Tucker if a participant is interested in playing in an older age group.
