Achieve Social: Night at the Buena Vista Heritage Museum!

Buena Vista Recreation is excited to be partnering with Achieve, Inc to offer stand-alone Achieve Social programs targeted towards neuro-diverse individuals (individuals typically on the autism spectrum/ADD/ADHD and similar disabilities). The outings will provide participants an opportunity to hone their communication and teamwork skills and help build confidence. The overall program goal is to build social and cognitive skills in neuro-diverse teens and young adults in Chaffee County and the surrounding area.

This program provides events/activities/outings appropriate for neuro-diverse people ages 14-25. Activities will also include at least 1 support staff for every 3 participants. If participants require more one-on-one assistance, they will need to provide their own volunteer/mentor to assist them during the outing. Each attendee needs to register separately to ensure enough spaces are reserved. Registration is open to neuro-diverse participants, any friends/family members of neuro-diverse participants, and volunteers/mentors.

Night at the Museum! Please arrive at the Buena Vista Heritage Museum located at 560 E Main Street in Buena Vista, Co at 5:15pm.  The group will tour the Heritage Museum, enjoy pizza, play some games and watch a movie before tucking in for the night.  The sleep over will conclude and participants will be picked up by 9:00am on Sunday, August 27.  Please reach out to Jennifer Davis, Executive Director of Achieve Inc., at jenny@achievelifeskills.org or 719-221-2124 with questions.
