Girls Softball League – Ages: 7-18

8U/10U: $70 Full Price ($60 Early Registration Discount); 14U/18U: $80 Full Price ($70 Early Registration Discount)

Practices: Weekday Mornings; Games: Mondays, Thursdays, and some Saturdays

June 1 – July 18 – Sheila Stout Memorial Softball Field

The Girls Softball League is back for Summer 2026! Practices for the Girls Softball League will begin the week of June 1. Practices will be held from 9:00-10:30am on Tuesdays & Fridays for 8U/10U, and on Mondays & Wednesdays for 14U/18U. A BV Rec Practice Facilitator will lead practice on Wednesdays for 14U/18U and on Fridays for 8U/10U. Volunteer team coaches will lead practice on Mondays for 14U/18U and on Tuesdays for 8U/10U. The 8U age group will use Coach Pitch, the 10U age group will use Modified Live Pitch, and the 14U/18U age groups will use Live Pitch. Games will be played in Buena Vista, Salida, Gunnison, Alamosa, and other communities, as scheduled. Ages are calculated as of August 31, 2025. NO PRACTICE OR GAMES WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY, JULY 3 OR SATURDAY, JULY 4.

Registration for the Girls Softball League includes a team t-shirt. Participants may purchase Charcoal Softball Pants and a BV Rec Visor through BV Rec during registration for $20 each. Visors and charcoal softball pants are not required for games or practices. All players should have their own glove. Cleats or running shoes are recommended. Metal cleats are not allowed.                                                                           

Registration for the Girls Softball League will include a Preseason Skills Clinic and Assessment led by the Buena Vista Recreation Department before the start of the season. The date and time are TBD.

Volunteer coaches are needed! A Coaches Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 20th at 6:00pm at the Community Center. Please contact Zack at 719-581-7155 or zkochetta@buenavistaco.gov, if interested. Volunteer coaches will receive a discount code for 50% off the registration fee. Please reach out to Zack if you are interested in being an Umpire or Scorekeeper for the Girls, Men’s and/or Coed Softball leagues.
